Island to Ice 2009 is an Antarctic themed collaboration between Antarctic researchers from the Harte Research Institute (HRI), a part of Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas and students from both Papamoa School in Papamoa, New Zealand and around the USA.  This partnership is not exclusive however.  Other people are welcome to participate.

This project allows students to interact with Antarctic researchers, by asking questions by email, viewing online journal entries written in Antarctica and through classroom visits prior to and after the trip.  Island to Ice 2006 is a continuation of the 2004 and 2005 Island to Ice projects that were run by University of Texas Marine Science Institute researchers and the 2006, 2007 and 2008 projects that were run by Harte Research Institute researchers.
